German losses in men:
- 266,000 (according to German stats)
- 1,000,000 men (according to Soviet stats)

Soviet losses in men:
- 895,000 (according to German stats)
- 600,000 (according to Soviet stats)

German losses in tanks:
- 600 (according to German stats)
- 6,000 (according to Soviet stats)

Soviet losses in tanks:
- 13,000 (according to German stats)
- 5,000 (according to Soviet stats)

German losses in guns:
- 800 (according to German stats)
- 8,000 (according to Soviet stats)

Soviet losses in guns:
- 10,000 (according to German stats)
- 7,000 (according to Soviet stats)

German losses in aircraft:
- 700 (according to German stats)
- 6,000 (according to Soviet stats)

Soviet losses in aircraft:
- 9,000 (according to German stats)
- 4,000 (according to Soviet stats)

As proven by archival investigation, German stats appear basically correct regarding their own losses, but 20% exaggerated regarding Soviet losses.
Soviet stats appear generally underestimated by 50% regarding their own losses, and overestimated by 1,000% regarding German losses.
At least this is the situation at the beginning of the war. But towards the end, German stats pretty much look like the Soviet in terms of exaggeration, whereas the latter tend to revert to slightly more reliable figures.
